The H2NG project continues to establish itself as a relevant contribution to the decarbonization of the energy sector by demonstrating the feasibility of integrating green hydrogen into existing natural gas networks.
Recently, the results of this work were consolidated in a scientific article published on ScienceDirect, reinforcing the technical rigor and relevance of the developments achieved by the consortium.
PRF Gas Solutions’ participation in this project has focused on the development and validation of engineering solutions for hydrogen injection and control, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructures and contributing to a pragmatic and scalable energy transition.
The technical contribution of Marcelo Amaral and José Dias stands out, highlighting PRF’s direct involvement in the generation of applied scientific knowledge.
This work results from the collaboration between scientific and industrial entities, namely STREAM Consulting, ADAI and the University of Coimbra, among other consortium partners.
The H2NG project is funded under Portugal 2020, through COMPETE 2020, with co-financing from the European Union, promoting the development of innovative solutions for the energy transition.
More than an academic exercise, H2NG demonstrates how hydrogen integration can be implemented in a safe, controlled manner, aligned with the objectives of the National Hydrogen Strategy.
